I am often contacted by people who aren’t sure that paid surveys is a viable opportunity for where they live. These people ask me questions like:
"I live in Corning, CA a very small town. Does it matter where you live to make money taking surveys?"
“I live in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Do you have paid surveys for this area?”
“I would like to know if it’s possible for me to do these surveys, as I am situated in South Africa.”
“I am currently located in the Philippines. Can I participate?”
These people don’t want to join a program that might not work for them. So they ask this simple question:
“Can I take paid surveys where I live?”
The sugarcoated answer that you will find on the Internet is that there are paid surveys for anyone, wherever you live…
This answer is misleading!
The accurate truth is as follows:

Online surveys are conducted everywhere in the world but 85% are done in developed countries (North America, Western Europe and Australia) and only 15% in the rest of the world. |

Mystery shopping is a booming industry in the USA. There are over 700,000 mystery shoppers there and hundreds of companies specializing in this field. It is active also in Canada, UK and Australia. In other countries, it almost doesn’t exist! |

Focus groups and mystery shopping jobs are conducted mainly in urban areas and in developed countries. If you live far from any medium-sized or big city, you won’t receive a lot of these types of jobs. |
So, can you take paid surveys in your area?
If you live in an urban area in the US, the answer is a definitive YES! You will be able to combine online surveys, focus groups and mystery shopping to make money. Go ahead!
If you live in a rural area in the US, just know that you will receive many online surveys but very few focus group invitations and mystery shopping surveys. The answer is "it depends". Compared to people living in an urban area your income potential is more limited. It's up to you to decide whether taking online surveys only is good enough for you.
If you live in an urban area in Canada, Australia or Western Europe, it is definitely worth giving it a try. You should receive a decent amount of surveys to take.
If you live elsewhere, surveys can be fun but they are probably not the best way to earn extra money! We recommend taking the free surveys included in this report (you will receive paid invitations from time to time) but there is no need to invest more time in it.
